Hello all,

I just purchased my first LC (2010 model year) on Saturday and had a couple of quick questions.

In the 5-state US South area, the dealer said that there were only 5 LC's available. Does anyone have any idea how many LC's are produced each year?

Also, the one I purchased was white, and the dealer told me that the white (absolute white I think its called) is the rarest of the LC colors. Any truth to that? Any idea of the breakdown on production #'s between the colors?

Anyways, I am extremely happy with my new purchase (owned an H2 for 2 years, and the LC is head and shoulders better as far as amenities, road noise, fit and finish, "luxury", and overall ROAD driveability are concerned compared to the H2)

Thanks for any insight in advance,
-Ken

Congratulations on the purchase. Here's a link to Land Cruiser production volumes up to 2006.

I'm not too sure white is the rarest. I would guess it's about 3rd or 4th most common compared to the other colors (I'm basing this on how many I've seen for sale, so it's far from scientific). I'm guessing black and silver are the most common while Pacific Blue and Amazon Green are probably the least common. In fact, I don't think I've even seen a green one ever listed for sale.

Hello Ken,

Did you by chance purchase your LC in Mckinney, TX?

Grey or Black very common, Silver, Green are here and there, blue or white tied for rarest.... in my experience

Ken - Congrats on your new LC!

I too just got my LC! A silver 2009 from another Toyota dealership in the DFW metroplex. Finally! I have been roaming this site and all of the car sales sites for a long long time, and finally was able to pull the trigger when I found exactly what I was looking for. I just got lucky it was close to where I live, and I could actually test drive it before I bought it. As another aside, this is my first post and wanted to say that I think the information that the members post on this site is invaluable. Thanks!

Back to the subject at hand...from all my looking, I saw the most grey, silver, and white LCs for sale. Then black, gold, and blue. There are a few red ones, and just a handful of green ones. As sptsdn said, far from scientific... And technically, just because these are the most popular colors of used LC 200s for sale doesn't necessarily mean these are the most common, but I think it's a pretty good barometer.

As for the LC sales numbers in the USA, this is from wiki:
2004 - 6,778
2005 - 4,870
2006 - 3,376
2007 - 3,251
2008 - 3,801

Compare that to the sales numbers of the Highlander to put it in perspective (again from wiki):
2004 - 133,077
2005 - 137,409
2006 - 129,794
2007 - 127,878
2008 - 104,661
