So, as I've done more reading/research, I've come to realize that I may have screwed myself over with my painting. On many of the parts, I didn't use any primer at all. Some parts I have gotten down to bare metal, while other I smoothed out the original paint and painted directly over. I've used zero rust on my FJ55 and Rustoleum on my FJ60. So far I've had no problems, but I'm wondering what effects I'm going to see down the road? Will the paint start flaking off early or will I get bubbling or strange patterns? Thanks for the help.

The bare metal parts will be a problem if they're subject to gravel strike. anywhere you hit bare metal, you'll have rust. The factory paint parts will be fine, provided proper prep was done. Bubbling and patterns are a product of application, not common to come up after the fact. I think the jury is out on the rustoleum. It may or may not have the uv stabilization necessary to be long lasting.
