@shmukster tried that bent the F&@k out of my favorite putty knife!! There is no gasket so there is no space to get the knife in.

@Stumpalama I do have the jack under the pinion. I also took out all the studs. It hasn’t moved yet. I may have to put more weight on the back of the frame.

You DID take the axles out... correct?

Oh s***!

Yes the axles are out! :)

I’m going to put some weight on the back of the frame tomorrow. If it hasn’t broken loose.

If the pumpkin is held on by Great Stuff, this may be of interest to you:

Different great stuff, me thinks... but xylene/acetone may still do the trick.

I think it was @GLTHFJ60 or @S4Cruiser who originally posted the answer to @Jakes40 problem...

Stump, I wondered if there was more than one type of Great Stuff. The foam thing sounds like insulation vs the form-a-gasket stuff that may be on the pumpkin.

Yup. If the xylene don't work, Chris' idea of heating should do the trick. All the while of keeping the shaft end supported by the jack. Should start letting go at some point. Gotta get Burl's fire starting instant on torch.

Came home today and the diff was dropped out.
My daughter said she leaned against the frame today and it fell out.

She's got the Cruiser touch!

Time and pressure wins again.

Let me know when it's ready to pick up. I can probably get it to a guy in Amissville that owes me a favor. :hillbilly: :hillbilly::hillbilly::lol:

I already paid for shipping... the cost of it was about the same as driving there to pick it up

My Rear is getting a long over do overhaul!

Removed aftermarket windshield hinges, sandblasted and painted a pair of oem's. Repaired all the rust in the windshield frame and painted it. Painted a bunch of knicks and scratches, sanded and painted the bezel and the rain gutter. New motor mounts, added a overflow tank to my radiator and repaired leaking trans line ports in radiator. Added a new stainless steel throttle cable and brackets, rebuilt the carb. Replaced entire battery cables that had corrosion. Soldered all the connectors on my fuse box to try to solve electric issues I was having. Installed my Metal Tech bumper and spare carrier but somehow lost my Jerry Can rack for it. Of course, Metal Tech no longer makes or sells this bumper so I can't get one. Will try to find one or get one fabricated. Also ran into issues with the lights due to the crappy harness installed. We had to modify the lights/bumper or do a crap ton of modification to the wiring. I'll deal with that at a later time. Filled in some holes in the tub the PO left or created. Tried to beat back some underside rust and then painted underneath. Straightened bent shift linkage. Fabricated some support brackets underneath where PO had cut stuff out to run the side pipes that I took off because they smoked me out and made a mess of black soot on the walls of my garage. Next project is removing the shackle setup and getting correct leaf springs and shocks on it. It sways with the crappy lift he has on it and it causes my rear end to bang and chatter when I have a load in it and turn.

Wow--busy.

About to pull the trigger on new springs for the 80. ARB (OME) has 2" heavy load springs, $350 shipped through Amazon.
I was hoping for Dobinsons, but they don't have what I want. I would have to go to 3" to get the heavy springs I'm looking for.

Can anyone think of any other options that don't cost a kidney?

This also means that my Ironman 4x4 2" springs will probably be available soon-ish. They are fine, just not for a constant 150 pounds in front and 400 pounds in the rear.
