Stoped in before the meeting and had a cone great spot. Did a great job on the build out! Ice cream was very tasty also.We opened last Monday.![]()
Grip edge hex bits. They grab awesome even on mostly stripped bolts. But, there's a 1/4" drive in the back of the telescope motor. You should be able to use a ratchet to retract the column.Spent the last few evenings working on the tilt/telescoping motors... they worked when I got the truck over 4 years ago but both stopped working at some point since. Felt weird to me, since the previous owner disabled the auto telescope feature in TechStream and I pretty much never adjusted my steering settings, but I ponied up the $200 for a new tilt motor a few months ago and @imperium generously gave me a spare used telescoping motor. To make a long story short, that used telescoping motor was broken, and I forgot that @imperium also gave me the broken tilt motor, so I was trying to install two broken motors and wondering why neither worked. Went to the basement, found the brand new tilt motor in the original box, plugged it in, and it worked great.
Hopped back on eBay and bought a new telescoping motor which should hopefully arrive in a few days.
The problem I'm having now is that I can't push the steering column in all the way. There are two tensioning 6mm hex bolts on the shaft, which when loosened, allow you to adjust the steering column manually. They both had their original factory paint markings and had never been loosened before... the left/further one came out just fine, but the right/closer one was really really tight and I think I started stripping it. It just refuses to budge in either direction. Slightly larger hex bits like 1/4 in and 7 mm will not fit, and the 6mm bit I have will just keep stripping it.

Any ideas/tricks on how to best get this out?
This is a great idea! I realized I actually have a bolt extractor kit so I'm gonna see if I can use that to pull it out, ordered a new tensioner bolt and hopefully I can pick it up today.Grip edge hex bits. Must be a Lexus thing...LOL!.... I just don't want the telescoping motor to have to work too hard.

Nice bumpa!Installed a new to me bumper and winch (from @Tikicruiser)on the Tundra! Need to finish putting all the panels and fear-lead on it but I’m very happy with it.

Yeah true but I would have expected a P0171 not the P0420. Unless having so much "fresh" air going past the down stream sensor pushes the reading outside the volt range that it expects to see as well. I somehow thought it was just measuring if there was not enough O2....That’ll do it for sure! Glad you got it sorted…a common problem too on the older Euro cars with CIS mechanical injection, very finicky to air leaks…
Replaced driver window motor , regulator and rubber window run. Motor stopped working and I already had the window run so got both things done at once. Big difference...did the rear driver window run too.
