Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on?

I'm not sure what you're asking. We've partnered with Moo Thru in Remington, if that's what you're getting at.

We opened last Monday. 🍨
Stoped in before the meeting and had a cone great spot. Did a great job on the build out! Ice cream was very tasty also.

Spent the last few evenings working on the tilt/telescoping motors... they worked when I got the truck over 4 years ago but both stopped working at some point since. Felt weird to me, since the previous owner disabled the auto telescope feature in TechStream and I pretty much never adjusted my steering settings, but I ponied up the $200 for a new tilt motor a few months ago and @imperium generously gave me a spare used telescoping motor. To make a long story short, that used telescoping motor was broken, and I forgot that @imperium also gave me the broken tilt motor, so I was trying to install two broken motors and wondering why neither worked. Went to the basement, found the brand new tilt motor in the original box, plugged it in, and it worked great.

Hopped back on eBay and bought a new telescoping motor which should hopefully arrive in a few days.

The problem I'm having now is that I can't push the steering column in all the way. There are two tensioning 6mm hex bolts on the shaft, which when loosened, allow you to adjust the steering column manually. They both had their original factory paint markings and had never been loosened before... the left/further one came out just fine, but the right/closer one was really really tight and I think I started stripping it. It just refuses to budge in either direction. Slightly larger hex bits like 1/4 in and 7 mm will not fit, and the 6mm bit I have will just keep stripping it.

Any ideas/tricks on how to best get this out?

Grip edge hex bits. They grab awesome even on mostly stripped bolts. But, there's a 1/4" drive in the back of the telescope motor. You should be able to use a ratchet to retract the column.

This is a great idea! I realized I actually have a bolt extractor kit so I'm gonna see if I can use that to pull it out, ordered a new tensioner bolt and hopefully I can pick it up today.

I'm just really surprised the column is that difficult to move even with the motor fully disconnected. I'll torque the bolts to spec and see if it's still as difficult to move manually... grease seems good but I just don't want the telescoping motor to have to work too hard.

Must be a Lexus thing...LOL!

Got my WAT valve body from @Cruisers and Co on Friday, installed today, stock one heading back to @Cruisers and Co tomorrow to get sent down under for the next customer.... ;) 🔧🦀

Easy installation...hardest part is humping the trans up on to the motor stand! Nice to be able to roll it over in the shop for easy and clean access...plus being a Toyota Reman, it's obviously clean as a whistle.

Hoping to cue up mine for an installation at @Cruisers and Co when they are ready...just hibernating nearby in Salida for a while just waiting for the call!

Installed a new to me bumper and winch (from @Tikicruiser)on the Tundra! Need to finish putting all the panels and fear-lead on it but I’m very happy with it.

Welp, went to do a wolfbox mirror/camera install on Sunday in my LX470. Got everything disconnected, and realized I'd lost the backing plate to mount the new mirror. Sigh, unbolted the seats to look on the cracks and still didn't find anything. Hopefully the replacement kit I ordered off of eBay will be here soon.

I installed one in my Tundra a couple weeks ago. It takes a bit to get use to and dial in where it looks behind you. But it’s nice to see behind the camper.

Well the Old Lass started feeling a bit boggy in acceleration / didn't feel like it was developing power as easily. Next came the old check engine light. Scan Gauge said was the old P0420. Hmmm.

Took it to a shop for their $$$$$ computers report and they confirmed that all the upstream data looked normal. They thought it was the cat or the sensor.

But the cat is new and she only throws the code intermittently and it been great since the new Manta install months ago. So I decided to sit on it, and let her think about her behaviour. That was a bit outside the scope of her ECU. But its does work sometimes!!

I pulled the spark plugs and well didn't they look all white and nasty! So then it was time to inspect the air intake hose. Looked totally fine but wasn't super pliable. I popped the airbox cover so I could carefully flex it and well there it was!

She is back to running great and so far haven't got the 420 code back, which doesn't really make sense to me at all as its down stream.....

That’ll do it for sure! Glad you got it sorted…a common problem too on the older Euro cars with CIS mechanical injection, very finicky to air leaks…

Yeah true but I would have expected a P0171 not the P0420. Unless having so much "fresh" air going past the down stream sensor pushes the reading outside the volt range that it expects to see as well. I somehow thought it was just measuring if there was not enough O2....

Replaced driver window motor , regulator and rubber window run. Motor stopped working and I already had the window run so got both things done at once. Big difference...did the rear driver window run too.

Have you installed the window rocket? That made a huge difference

Yep...but this even helped more!
