i never thought I'd even consider a 2wheel drive truck but I am! My wife's coworker has a 99 extra cab auto with the 3.4 with 130k. 2wheel drive trucks aren't worth much up here. The dealer offered her $1000. Truck is in fantastic shape, but needs a new radiator since that dealer offer. I have no documentation on the timing belt ever being replaced. The latest from the seller(or her boyfriend) is that the head gasket may need replacement. They claim the radiator has a leak, but the engine never overheated.....so I'm thinking worse case radiator, timing belt water pump etc will cost me $500 in parts. Easy enough. My question is, is it common for the 3.4 to blow the head gasket if the cooling system was in working order? If it is blown I'm in another $500 in parts? Right? Some machining.
