I'm looking to get a little more torque out of my engine. I've been looking at some basic mods and I think I have a plan, but I wanted to get some more input from people who know more than I do :p

So as far as basic mods go, I was thinking combining an LCE Header with the URD MAF Calibrator.

Together these should cost ~$660 (assuming shipping isn't expensive) and from what I've read I should expect something around 25-30 ft/lb increase in torque, yeah?

What do you guys think?

I've never heard of any major performance upgrades with the 4 bangers, but it sounds like you found a couple. The smart ass answer = 1GR-FE. Good luck.

Just some friendly advice, I would stay away from the LCE header. I have a close friend who cracked his manifold and decided to go with an LCE, it cracked, they wouldn't replace it, offered him a credit (not much, I think it covered shipping) for another one, he has a 98 pickup and apparently that was a bad year for manifolds, so he took it. Second header had several pin holes, no response, and it eventually cracked also, again LCE basically told him "tough :censor:". He ended up getting a later model manifold and has been happy so far.

I try to pass this along to everyone I run across because they basically sold him not one but two :censor: headers and acted like it was his problem.

Good luck whatever you decide.

BTW, my truck will never have to pass emissions, so go nuts with suggestions :p

I guess I should have said proceed with caution. I don't know much about the 2.7 so I can't offer much in the way of advice. Do they offer any chips or programmers for it?
