Hi guys I've been on this thread for a while now but on the 70 series page . I have a lc71 with a vvti v6 4.0 engine same set up as the fj it comes stock like this from factory.
I have a Q and hoping someone can help me out .
My car has the following mods on the engine
K&n air intake
Afe throttle body spacer
Long tube jba headers
Uni chip
The problem is when ever I'm off roading and and need to boat it the power just cuts out momentarily dies but the engine still idles but no response when I put the pedal down ?
Last night I cleaned the mass air flow sensor . Not sure this could of been the problem but thought if start with it as I live in a dusty country .
Has anyone had this same problem and could you pls advise me on what to do
With all those mods, it could be anything, but the first place I'd look would be the chip/programming.
The stock 1GR-FE is about as reliable as they come.
I thought the same just waiting for a day off . Then take it to the guy who did it .
I'm also thinking do you think there could be something wrong with the throttle body sensor ?
You'd likely have a code if the sensor had a problem. I'd look at cleaning the throttle body though since gunk can build up around the butterfly and give some hesitation. I'd also check the vacuum hoses.
Hi guys wanting to do a fuel pressure test from my fuel lines does anyone know what pressure the 2007 to 2009 vvti 4.0 should give had look online couldn't find anything
Hi guys wanting to do a fuel pressure test from my fuel lines does anyone know what pressure the 2007 to 2009 vvti 4.0 should give had look online couldn't find anything
Copied and pasted from the 2007 factory service manual:
(m) Measure the fuel pressure.
Standard:
281 to 287 kPa (2.87 to 2.93 kgf/cm2, 40.8 to
41.7 psi)
• If the fuel pressure is greater than the standard value, replace the fuel pump.
• If the fuel pressure is less than the standard value, check the connection between the fuel
hose and fuel pump.
(n) Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD ll / ACTIVE TEST / PRIMARY / FUEL
PUMP / SPD / OFF.
(o) Check that the fuel pressure does not change for 5 minutes.
Standard:
147 kPa (1.5 kgf/cm2, 21 psi)
If the result is not as specified, check the fuel pump
and fuel injector.
