I am going to get my Bud Built skids powder coated. I took them to a business in Marshalltown. They will match the Voodoo Blue and do the 4 pieces (I just got the gas tank skid to add to the rest). They are going to clean the old three piece and powder coat the all for $110. I don't know if this is a good price, but they did the rims on my 40 when I restored it and did a great job. They have a lot of color choice. Also in a month or so I will have my Toyota rock sliders for sale if anyone wants them let me know.
I am getting ready to head for Gilmer, TX next Thurday:steer:. My son is coming from Chicago area to ride along.

$110 seems like a really good price. I'd eventually like to get my 80's wheels powdercoated. I can't decide between orange or red though....

Larry,
Are you just going to end up scratching it up? If that happens won't it look like crap? You might give Greg a call and ask him about the powder coating cost. I recall him emailing a group of people about a contact he had in the Grimes area. I know Greg used this business and was happy with their work and price.

It may scratch up, I will just have to touch it up. It will be slick to help with the sliding action. I did email Greg to tell him about it. I think he had to buy his powder as it was a non-standard color and the powder was fairly expensive with some left over. This place has a lot of standard colors. Bud (Bud Built) said it costs him about a buck a pound to get his done.
