We finally have the Bruiser back after a complete rebuild of the transmission. Anyone heading out for any runs on the 28th, 30th, 1st or 2nd? We are still learning the areas so not real sure of place to head out too.

I'm definitely interested in a day trip and maybe even the new years camping trip mentioned above. Let me know and I'll do the same, are you more interested in snow or desert and what kind of rig do you have? I'm new so I don't know everyone, nor what they drive.

What do you think about meeting at the Roundup Grill (aka Lake Henshaw cafe) at 8 am - Lake Henshaw, 26439 CA-76, Santa Ysabel, CA 92070 - looks like they're open New Year's Day. Eat, then drop down to Borrego Springs and then north up Coyote Canyon trail? Eat lunch on the trail or kick it at the Sheep Canyon campground before heading out before dusk?

Despite the rain they got last night, not much water in the crossing - beautiful day to be out and about. Pretty quiet all through the canyon.

Yep, water crossing wasn't all that deep.

You could even see a little snow in the distance.

Anyone know why they filled in the Turkey Trot grade? You can do it in a Civic now. Such a bummer. Another spot ruined. Camped up there my entire life with my dad, taking his land cruiser running around stacking rocks so we could make it up! Always get Sheep and Coyote to ourselves ... Last time I went up with the wife there were constant flow of rigs running by our camp.

Also what happened to Diablo dropoff to Sandstone canyon? They filled that in? Then fish creek they filled it all in? What the hell is going on?
