Popped my back, left axel while driving on bitumen, just wondering if anyone has had this happen?
Any idea what could cause it?
Still drives with hubs locked in.
Could it be an easy fix i can do myself?

Hello,

It appears that your axle shaft popped.

You have a full floating axle. It is designed to keep the wheel in place when a shaft breaks. I understand it is a safety requirement in your neck of the woods.

You can limp back home.

You may have to tear down your axle and replace the shaft. Other components may need repair as well. The service manual is your friend.

It looks like you sheared all the axle studs and dowel pins on the end of the hub. Clean it up and see what you have left with. Might have to extract the broken studs and chase the threads. I'd check the other side too.
