i am interrested in another one of these. its a 95 3.8L 6 cyl, with 170,000 on it. runs silent no knocks or ticks when revved. but the shift seems a little sluggish as if its slipping sometimes, other times it seems like its shifted fine. i can get this one for cheap perfect inside and out leather interior and all accessory works except for power door(sometimes it does though, how hard is it to diagnose and fix?). i have owned 2 of these minivans and think they are great. no maintenance what so ever on them. one hit 200,000 and finally threw a rod through the pan. other is @ 240,000 and still driving great(needs tie rods and ball joints though).
my question is how hard is it to swap a tranny from the thrown rod one to the possible ew one....assuming the trannies are identical. one is a 94 other is 95 with exact same engine. never done a tranny swap before but i got a garage and a dad with great mechanical skills. is it possible there is a shift point sensor that could be bad or some kind of valve thats bad?
thanks in advance,
steve
