Inspired by a week in Iceland in a Land Cruiser 150, the "Utility Grade" trim level in UK and Kichiro's quest to have a full Japan-spec Prado trimmed out GX, I took some minor cosmetic emblem / badging steps to line up (roughly) with the global Toyota Land Cruiser range....

With help from another 'mud member, I acquired a used rear-garnish from a Japanese auction site. It featured chrome trim in Japan, but I de-chromed it with a graphite plasti-dip.

I didn't find (or spend enough time) to source the exact Toyota emblem. This version from the 2008 circa LC 200 and is 139mm across vs the 150mm width of the current Lexus emblem. The emblem orientation holes show a bit on both sides of the smaller T emblem.

There are all kinds of significant challenges in the country and world today - but this is a fun (and slightly frivolous) global badge swap that only a few us us will recognize.

is there any chance you still have the model number for the rear garnish? And did you have any other issues fitting the Japanese garnish to the US GX? I’m dying to fully rebadge my new rig. I’ve already swapped the front and rear Lexus badges to yota badges and love it but the big ugly chrome rear garnish is terrible and I’d love to have a TRJ150 garnish.

P.S. For a perfectly fitting rear badge, grab part number 75311-33130 from eBay or whether. It’s a Camry front grill badge and has the exact perfect mounting pin holes to align with the GX barn door badge holes. You’ll have to separate the black plastic backing piece and throw a bit of 3M on the badge, but it looks damn good.

I used an LC badge for the front grill, but the pins didn’t line up and it’s a bit wider than the stock Lexus badge so I’m not going to recommend that to you.
