Gee Tony, I thought you were saying PMC was going to have a full color calendar like Henry Brimmers.

What about orangeFJ45's FJ45 & Friends Run? Isn't he a PMC'er?

Dave

yes Dave.... I need to get that on there. Again, this will be evolving in the next couple of months. I only recently noted his posts on IH8Mud about confirming the date for labor day weekend in September. I will get this added and please let me know of any other events (including the specific information) and we'll get them added.

Desertdude.... more details to be coming on Death Valley. But as noted in the newsletter, contact Andy and confirm if you are serious about attending. Quite frankly, don't be surprised to see him turning last minute folks away. There gets a point where there can be too many trucks. I know I'm confirmed to go!

basically, Andy will have a general meeting spot somewhere in Death Valley Park (or monument or whatever it is, I forget). from there, he will have a route detailed allowing everyone to see darn near the entire park. We covered 280 miles last year in the park alone. This run is perfect for the wagons! Do not expect serious off roading, its not that type of trip but four wheel drive will be required (along with a good spare tire).

Last year we hit every major site including the barker ranch (manson hideout), Devils golf course (most awesome), Ubehebe crater, race track, lippencot grade, and many many various passes and sub sea level valleys. Probably one of my most favorite treks in 04.

Again, more details to come in the January and February newsletters.

Death Valley

Yep, were were fortunate to have Tony join us last year. There were 3 flats on the trip-all his! There was also a minitruck with ignition problems-wait, that was Tony's truck too. One of the group members got lost and had to camp alone in South Park Canyon--I can't remember who that was though..... Tony did inspire me to get a Dutch oven and I've some recent excellent success. I'll be reprising my Apple nut cobbler from Surf and Turf. I want to have a cook off, Iron Chef style, with Tony.

For this year's trip-I regret to say we are at capacity. I have had way more interest than I thought was possible. I think 18 people(well trucks anyway) have said they plan to go. Plus at least 4-5 others who want to go. I figure 2-3 will drop out due to schedule or what ever. That's still a big group. Just a disclaimer, though...the NPS says you need a permit for "organized" runs through the park. This run is not organized. There are no fees of any type, and officially you are on your own-since we are not "organized". With that said, the standard rule of 4-wheeling will still apply-"no one left behind" (Unless you show up with worn out tires and a flat spare!). If you really want to go, contact me privately and I'll see how the numbers are looking as we get closer.

We are really going to cover some ground this year-I would like to break 300 miles off road. We'll start in Big Pine and traverse the Saline Valley and Dedrecka(sp?)Canyon the first day camping at the Racetrack, then Hidden Valley, Hunter Mountain, South Park Canyon the second day, then Pleasant Canyon, Goler Wash, Butte Valley the third day and Warm Springs Canyon, Devils Golf Course and home on the 4th day. I'll be putting out a full email in the next few days on the Norcal list and to the folks who contacted me privately like the Taylors, Peter Crase and others whose names I can't immediately recall.
