Any Mud'ers heard of this event before?
As I understand it, the (loose) rules call for all entrants to spend less than 100 British pounds on a vehicle and drive it almost 3,700 miles where it's auctioned off for a Gambian charity. This whole race seems far more adventerous than a Baja challenge or Paris-Dakar, and seems primed for a Land Cruiser!
So what are the odds of flying over to Europe, picking up a Cruiser for less than 100 pounds (or one in bad enough shape that 100 pounds is a decent enough lie) and making it all the way to the destination? For my money, this seems like one hell of a cool ride. Anybody in for 2007's race? 6 May is the application deadline...
