Platform roof rack accessory options

So I’m thinking about installing a Sherpa roof rack on my 100 series LX. I’m just struggling a bit with how I can mount aftermarket items like bike mounts, canoe gunwale clamps, etc. I already have a thule system that clamps onto the oem rails and I have all the thule accessories that clamp onto the square thule crossbars. I’m just interested in something with a lower profile and a platform would allow me to strap boxes down around the canoe or bikes and keep things tidy on the roof. What do people use to secure their bikes and canoes down to a platform roof rack? Maybe the platforms are more meant for roof top tents and not other accessories?
