I was at the boat and sportsman show tonight and was talking with a SRD officer from whitecourt about places to go 4x4ing. He pointed me to aplce north of Barrhead called Vega. I remember hearing about it from my dirt biking days. I never went but my cousin went there a few times when he was younger and he said it was good. the SRD officer said it had lots of trails and hills, mostly sand. Sounds Promising. He gave me a map of the area.
After i walked away from him, i got to thinking. there is also a place near bruderheim, 30 min. from town, where i went dirtbiking a couple of times when i was younger. maybe we could go there. from what i remember there were lots of trails. i wonder if we could go there?
Also, I stopped at the backcountry maps booth. they were selling their mapbooks for $20, no g.s.t.. is that a good deal? are those books any good? i quickly flipped through one but didn't look closely.
