Anyone familiar with the ride aspects of a Gx460 with skinnys? I’m leaning toward some 235 or 255’s but it’s the Mrs daily driver so I don’t want to compromise too much if it changes the ride quality.

255/70/18 KO2s on stock suspension and the ride feels great to me. That's subjective though.

Back in the dark ages when I first started wheeling. 235's were considered wide. Skinnies were 155's . Or the wood wheel on a covered wagon.

You should do better in snow on a narrower tire . Ride quality is more influenced by the aspect ratio. If you were running 20 inch wheels and went to a 16 inch wheel with the same height tire, in other words bigger sidewalls, it would ride better and handle worse.
