I have a Springfield Armory XD 9mm Tactical that I have had for almost 8 years and I have been keeping it in my cruiser. I've started to wonder about the heat and its effects on the pistol, ammo, etc, so I've decided it is time to move it inside the house.

I have looked at getting either a small Pelican case and a cable type lock or a small safe. And by small, I am thinking of screwing it to the underside of a reinforced wooden bed frame.

Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts?

I bought a small safe made by ADG Sports, purchased at Marks Outdoors for about $50. It has a 4 button key pad thats fast and easy to open plus a regular key lock if batteries go dead. Will hold about 2 medium sized pistols. It has holes pre drilled under the foam padding to mount anywhere you like. I liked how it worked so much I purchased a second one to mount at my office for cash drawer and pistol holder.

sounds like what you need...FYI if you carry a gub in a vehicle, swap out the ammo ever so often. you dont' want the poweder to vibrate and get toooo fine and up the pressure.
