At the Jan meeting, Trail Leader Tim Wehrer announced (OK, I embellished that a bit) that the Feb. Mud run to Pillsbury is scheduled for Feb 5th, Saturday, 9 AM sharp at the air strip.

Meet at the air strip, be there before 9 AM. Plan on a full day (bring lunch and warm clothing).

An updated calendar will be in the newsletter.

Anyone planning on going from the Vacaville area? I'm going to try to make it, but have never been. I'm hopeing to follow someone. A couple people have said they plan on going, but they arent sure.

Thanks
Dave

run your cb on the date as channel and start screamin around Ukiah , someone will hear you if you are there early , like 7:00 to 7:30. at Denny's.

I'll check my schedule. I'd love to make it, gottat get my seats in and electrical back together fast!!!

It's easy to get there. If I recall - it's about 30 miles from Ukiah to Lake Pillsbury.
North on 101
Take Hwy 20 East towards Clear Lake.
Turn off to the left towards Potter Valley.
Turn right on Eel River Rd (signs say Lake Pillsbury & there's a little store and bar there on the corner)
Go over main bridge after the turn off for the logging road to go on the county road.
Turn right onto county road after crossing the bridge over the Eel River.
Once you get to the 4 way stop at Soda Creek - turn left towards the lake and campgrounds and you'll run into the air strip and all the cruisers.
There's also a way through Upper Lake off Hwy 20 - but that road is steep and curvy and takes a lot longer.
You can do a search on the internet too for some maps.

As of right now I will be there. Hope to see some mud, snow and friends!

Russ

another great turnout for the mud run!

Had to be 25 - 30 trucks again... everything from mild to wild.

The weather was superb, the mud was there as was the snow and downed trees. I know this was the first time in a long time that I simply fell into line and actually wheeled all day instead of hanging around to guide the late arrivals. Tim's call for 9 AM sharp was still reasonably sharp at 9:30. There was basically 3 groups running around, each with different itinaries... but most also fell into line for upper powderhouse as the ground had quite a bit of traction.

All three Russ Websters were there, along with Tom Boyd in Das Beast (haven't seen that truck out for some time) and many others including Amy Henry in her new Tacoma and Allyson Dericco in her new Tundra. Andy Watson showed up in his new (to him) 99 FZJ100 along with Gary Steiner and his beautiful sweetheart... what was her name? The Linn's also showed up, first time in a long time, but they also completed building a cabin up there so it was locals day for them.

Eric (Bonedaddy) Wehrer managed to roll his truck again but Eric's not happy unless he has his dad in the passenger seat, as he's going over on the passenger side. Good job Bonedaddy!

Roger and Jamie Taylor were also there in Roger's mini truck. Roger, being the kind and gentle club member that he is, brought up the tail gunner position and aided everyone who fell behind. Good thing no one feel behind!

Ryan and Brenda Ramsey were there in the 80 series and very much looking forward to Death Valley in March.

Yodaman Larry Kitahara was there riding shotgun with Brian Manchester. Larry brought out the eats as usual, thank gosh 'cause I was getting mighty hungry. His smoked salmon is to die for!

It was an awesome day, it was great to actually wheel for a change, and no one I know of except that mud guy got any tickets (101 is crawling with CHP).

good times, sorry if you missed it... you snooze, you lose as Roger says.

Come on man! Where are the pics?
