Agreed. Plus he mentions the brake problem. But it's listed under three different headings, so maybe it's a motivated seller. 2K, depending on condition and the title?

Cahil,

You need this for your collection! It looks pretty good from the pics; make an offer and pay half now, half when you get the title.

I've always liked 55s, although lots of noncruiserheads tell me they're ugly. I tell 'em its like fat girls and mopeds, lots of fun to ride just embarassing infront of your friends :)

I spoke to the guy today. He says the first person to offer him $2500 takes it. Runs pretty well but sounds likethe slave cylindr needs to be repaired if you're driving it home. He is offering to tow it. Its in Seven Corners.

I'm told the rust isn't too bad. from the pics it doesn't look all that bad compared to most cheap piggies! I think he may even throw the winch in at that price. He claims the guy he bought it from sold it to him with the wrong title and the guy he got it from told him the same thing????? Apparently $250 gets you a new title. If I had some spare cash, a place to put it, and a de-rusted truck (!) maybe I'd consider it.

FELIX, You NEED a home depot hauler.....Ofcourse we can always swap rides too - just don't call the cops on me next time! Vicariousness is overrated, you should buy one.

Actually that a pretty good idea. Chatted with him a bit. He's definitely open to trades. I temped him with a '63 for trade and he took a good nibble to practically a good bite. However, messed up titles do not give me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Yeah, you can go through a title company and get another title but if anywhere that VIN has been reported stolen, mechanic leined, or any police action you can kiss that replacement title goodbye. He offered me a 'private party bill of sale' .. well gee, I'll rush right over.

I've done enough weird but legal stuff with titles to know to wait until the dust settles and then see what we can work out. I'm gonna wait until my salesman's license paperwork is finalized. Then go over there and slap a dealer's tag on it and take it out for a test drive.

Be careful of missing titles. sounds like it could be a headache... but might help you get the price down low...

Talked to Johnny again tonight. He's into that truck for $2k. Seems he just wants to get his money out and be done with it. He'll remove and keep the winch for his trailer. To rich for my blood.
