Please pardon my poor manners, asking lots of questions and not posting pics. This rig was purchased about 6 mo ago, had a great motor/ tranny in it (3F 5sp) so so body, but man the rest was a case of bad po if I ever saw one. After new pads, disks, drums, master cyl, booster, shocks, re-arched an modified leaf packs, bushings, clutch slave, battery, carb kit, dist vacuum diaphram, exhaust, rodded and patched radiator, 4 new wheel bearings, seals in trans/ tfer case, shocks, tune up parts, new tail light lenses, and finally tires, it's running quite well and I do not miss my Montero AT ALL :-) Next task is stripping the body down and cutting out hidden rust, and paint. I paid way too much for the rig but the upside is labor here is cheapcheapcheap, so as long as you watch every move the mechanic makes your money goes along way in the fixing up department.

Hi All:

Thanks for posting a pic of your rig! We would like to see more! :D

But, I'm confused . . . you say it is a HZJ70, but then say the engine is a 3F? That would make it a FJ70. Has a 1HZ I-6 been swapped into this truck??

Regards,

Alan

You are so right, yes... FJ70, I'm quite the expert huh? Anyway, trying to find the best 100$ range shock for this thing... mostly what I do though is pre-runner style abuse. Think I need an external res shock.
