DANG!!!! Need to go look at my dock. My boat may have floated of the lift.

yeah i remember those tides when I lived on Wadmalaw growing up and hell up to 4 years ago......would go over the main dock which was usually a couple feet above the water even at highest tide under full moon with strong offshore winds. It is a trip for sure....

Funny you mention that, over the last few years we have as a neighborhood, including myself have lost boats temporarily due to these tides. Wake up 1 morning and scratch your head as to where i parked my boat last night:beer::beer::beer::beer:. Later to find it a couple miles up the creek:doh:, some have even had the Coast Guard to call their homes to inform them there boats have been found adrift.

Yeh, it was fun driving the Camry through about an 10" current across Long Point rd. tonight. I let a Jetta go through first, and figured if he made it I could.

I did the Long Point Road drive the other day! The whole time I was thinking where the best place for the photographer would have been.

Land Lubber

From the title and the pic's I assumed this tide to be related to the closest position of the moon. I did go confirm that was was the fact,as I was not real sure at first. See the club has educational benifits beyond Toyota's. Hope that next tide did not float your boat in a bad way. Neat pic's and info thanks illuminating a old land lubber to a new and neat costal fact.

The moon was in perigee AND the summer solstice at the same time. I built docks for about 12 years, and I never saw a tide above 8 feet. The weather channel said between 8.2 and 8.5. Makes the creeks look like lakes.
