I was just down in KY at an event at Turkey Bay in the Land-Between-The-Lakes. I must say that this place is a perfect area for introduce your FJ to wheeling. Tons of trails; from great introduction to wheeling to stuff that will make you question your intelligence. If you live near by check out this place. The Fed. Ranger of the park really supports our sport and working hard to keep this area open for us.

I second what Roosterdo has to say about Turkey Bay. This is the oldest federaly funded OHV park in the US. The terrain is varied from mild to wild and the scenery is beautiful.
The most imprsessive thing about the experience to me was meeting Bill Ryan. Bill works for the US Forest Service and manages the land at Turkey Bay. He took a real interest in our presence there and came out on a trail ride with us. Not only did he take time to show us some choice trails, but he elaborated on the work he has done on the park. Bill goes the extra distance to try to keep the park maintained and open for our enjoyment. He has been up against a lot of misuse, and has worked hard to offset this. He is a true advocate for responsible off-highway vehicle use.
If you are planning a trip to the Southeast, I hope you consider supporting this park and Bill's efforts.
thanks again gusy for coming out.just want to let some folks who maybe want to try wheelin & are concerned about money for mods.i took a bone stock 300,000 mile 4runner with stick shift & 235/75/15 tires.one of our customers took a bone stock 96 taco.i know i had a great time & i'm pretty sure the taco owner also did.will i upgrade down the road?maybe,if i start going more often.however i went everywhere that i felt comfortable with my ability(not the trucks ability-it could have done more)with more experience i would feel comfortable doing more challenging stuff with the same rig i have
