The passenger seat in my RHD BJ74 has the handy fold-down, shoot forward feature to make it easier to get into the rear seat.
When the truck is full of camping gear this seat motion is a pain since the pass seat must be slid all the way back for it to latch again.

Has anyone disabled this feature, or at least the movement on the seat rails, in a way that is reversible?

When no one has an answer to a question on this 70 series forum, there are several likely reasons.
1. No one knows
2. Question is too trivial
3. Others feel the OP should use Search..
4. Others feel the OP is too lazy to use wrenches.
So I will answer my own question.

I got the passenger seat out.
There are 3 cables that operate too many latches etc.
Only one makes the seat slide release while the seat back folds forward (see photo)
I used a screwdriver to get the cable loose and deactivate the slide motion.
If the seat position is adjusted too far forward (by the lever under the seat's front,) you have to slide the seat all the way back again to get it to latch.
I set the seat in a middle position and now get the folding without the sliding.

Ingenious system of cables that I left alone.
