Parting out a GMC 3500 vandura

Hey guys, I'm going to be parting out a '95 GMC Vandura 3500 this summer. I'm buying it for the engine/harness/computer for my '78 FJ40. I will not be using the 4sp+O/D automatic GM trans or the 8 lug rear axle. (may be a Dana60?!) It has 64k original miles, and was a repo. from a leasing Co. I'll know more about it when I get it this weekend. It will probably end up on the N/E side near 96th and Keystone for the dismantling. Let me know if you're interested in any parts from the beast.

Probably a 14 bolt rear, but they ran a few types in that truck. If the trans is a 4L80E, it's a nice one, but it needs to go with the same engine. It can't be run as a standalone without an expensive aftermarket computer.

Absolutely! the van is a terd, but interestingly it has a commercial/industrial carpet cleaning system in the back of it. Just like this van White Magic, Inc.
I was poking around and it's got a really cool shaft/belt driven 'huge' Roots style vac/pump and water pump mounted behind the driver's seat. You could probably supercharge a freight train with the thing. I checked with a few companies and they might be interested in buying the cleaner system out of it, so I might actually get the engine/harness & the rest of it for nothing.
Pretty neat stuff. If you know anyone who would like a good 2F in the indianapolis area I'll be having one available soon! =)

Is it a dually or a single rear wheel? Disk brake rear? How do the seats look? I might be interested in either parts or all of what's left if the price and condition are decent (after you sell the carpet cleaning system that is). I have a '93 that could use some parts.... Can you post up a few pictures?

Yeah I'll get some pictures up here as soon as I can. I was out there today and got the beast to fire up and breathe! Whoot!
The rear is a single wheel drum brake housing. I think it IS the GM 14 Bolt like Gumby stated. The rims are kinda cool. I think the condition would be the deciding factor for you since I'm sure the price will be right after I get what I want off of it & sell the vac.

It's probably going to be next summer, but I'd probably sell the old 2-f for $1500. it's a good motor with less than 500 miles on it since I had it apart. If I was going to do anything with it I would bore the cylinders and put new pistons & rings in it. When I had it apart I just honed the holes. I resurrected it from a melting '76 a few years ago. I pulled it all apart cleaned checked and measured everything. I put new gaskets on it, I tried an I-6 HEI distributor that I modified to work on the engine while it was out on the stand. I've got both ignitions, right now I'm using the original Toyota ignition since I just didn't feel like fussing with the HEI vacuum and centrifugal curves. It would come with a set of 6-2-1 headers originally from TPI and a really nice 38/38 Weber. I've got an extra flywheel and bell-housing, and the clutch I've got in it now is a Centerforce-1 which has plenty of meat left on it.I would rather not set up shipping for the monster though. Bring all of your friends and I'll strap it to a palette for you. =)
