Our plans changed dramatically…I was going to rebuild/refurbish this complete 1973 FJ 40 for my step daughter but since changed directions.

This vehicle was bought under the assumption it was a 1978 (off the internet) but when it arrived, the door plate read 1973. The motor is a running 2F with 4 speed transmission so obviously the vehicle is not completely a 1973. Also has bottom mounted windshield wipers along with some other tell tale signs of being post 1975.

for a more detailed list of available parts please refer to post: https://forum.ih8mud.com/sale-parts/199680-plans-change-fj-40-now-being-parted-out.html.

If there are parts needed that you do not see, ask me about them. I am keeping some of the parts from this vehicle to rebuild our other 1972 FJ 40, but at this point the cash maybe more useful to me than the actual part.

Any idea what year the windshield frame is? Condition? Price?

Thanks

windshield frame is not in the best of shape. the exterior bottom is riddled with rust as well as the two lower corners on the inside.

It is definitely a post 75/76 model as it has the wipers on the bottom.

If you are interested, I can snap some photos tomorrow night and we can go from there.

I'll pass on the ws frame.

Thanks for the info.

I would not feel comfortable selling it in it's condition.

Why not?

You are letting people know that it is a mishmash of parts from various years and it has rust issues. You are being upstanding and honest about it and posting what you do know about the vehicle. Letting people know up front is a whole lot different than finding out the way you did.

I have been there and still living through that experience.

what I meant was I did not feel comfortable selling the other poster the windshield frame.

I am not the type of person that can sell someone garbage and have a clear conscious.

I understand what you are saying about me being up front and basically that is all I am trying to do/be, up front and honest!

Sorry, I thought you were refering to the entire rig.

No Problem. In fact I think you might have even helped me illustrate that I am the type that is honest and will tell the buyer if something is wrong or not.

Like you referred to it in your original post, I have been "bruised" on a few sales myself. I just don't want to be the person doing the "bruising" if you know what I mean.

(you have to have at least one "Golden rule" for yourself right? );)

I can send them. but I don't think you are going to like them. I just removed the wiper motor for another mud member, and the frame is in sad shape.

shaft

Hi,Hows the front drive shaft? if it is 26" and usable I'd be interestedKyle

Bib is in decent shape, I'll try and dig it out for some photos, but give me a few, it is buried under the stack of parts.

Aprons, I bought a new set off of ebay for this project, but then never went on. Not sure if I am going to keep them for my other project or not. but the set off the other project are good as well, so I would venture to say I do have a set that is very usable for you.

What are you asking for them?

Do you still have all the side marker lights? Orange pair on the bib and red pair on the rears.

How about the doors....are they available, newer style with handles or older style with levers?
