After wheeling the other day my parking lights stay on when the ignition is on. All the other lights and the wipers work properly. They will get just slightly brighter when using the switch to turn them on.

Kinda weird huh? Any ideas.

86 4runner.

Thanks,

Fixed it.
In case it happens to anyone else I'll post the fix.

The lighted bezel around the cig lighter was back feeding the running lights. This is a new (to me) fancy schmancy sr5 body with all the bells and whistles. I used it to replace my no frills rolled body. So I deleted the lighted bezel, but I still used the original wiring (must have used the wrong wire on the grounded side of the lighter). While wheeling the cig lighter vibrated loose enough for the prongs inside the lighter (which are hot) to come in contact with the grounded side and close the circuit. And since the bezel was connected into the running lights circuit it hotted the lights up.

Unlikely to happen to someone else but you never know.

When I read the title of the thread, i thought must be a 4runner.

Toyota build GREAT trucks, but the must have hired rat goons to build wiring rat nests.

glad you figured it out.

im still tring to fix..
1,2,3, umm 4 wire problems for my 4runner and one major one on my 89 truck..
