Toyota Addict
Stopped by the local Toyota dealership to schedule an oil change and rear brake job for the GX Monday morning. Service manager said she'd take it then and have it ready by 4pm. At 3:30, I get a call, "The tech has to leave early today and he's having some difficulty with the pins (?) on your rotors. Can you leave it overnight? I'll comp your oil change for the inconvenience."
They finally call at lunchtime the following day to inform me that the GX is ready. After paying the $199 bill, I head home only to discover that the parking brake does not work at all!
I spent almost 3 hours waiting on them to "make an adjustment" this morning.
The service manager on duty today tells me now that he'll have to order some parts from Lexus, b/c his tech must have tweaked something on the parking brakes when he was reinstalling the rotors.
Is there something so different about the GX that a compotent Toyota mechanic should have these types of issues? I've used this dealership extensively for all of our Toyotas ('01 Corolla, '96/'03 Tacomas; 04 Sienna) and there is almost always a Lexus of some sort in the service lot as the closest Lexus dealership is 2 hrs. away.
