It's put on by the Baltimore 4-wheelers, (Scott, isn't that your group?) but the rules look a bit strict... specifically:

7. All registered vehicles must have a spare tire. Full size spare is mandatory for level 4 or higher trails, along with proper size jack.

I don't carry a spare... never have. I do carry a boot, a tube, and plugs. There's a reason I run SX's, and I sure as hell don't want to carry another 125lbs of SX and beadlock on my rig, not to mention it's not being built to hold one. Jack? what's a jack? I run a snatch block off a tree and pull myself onto 2 tires... more stable than a hi-lift, you better believe it.

Are they going to be hardasses about this?

I'm not affiliated with them, although I should look into it. I have been wheeling at Rausch Creek without a spare, since I have beads too.

Got a link to these guys?

I've actually got to go pick it up... it's a thick piece of rubber that goes over the hole in the tire, to prevent the tube from getting cut or damaged... can get 'em from most big rig tire shops so I'm told.

GREAT event, I attended this one a few years ago....the Baltimore crew does a nice job with the whole deal, and their club is very active on many levels of offroading.

I did have a fullsize spare for the event....a buddy used a "near" fullsize on his rig without issue...best to email and check on specifics.
