Thought I'd post this here too since it's a bike ride combined with a climbing trip. A friend of mine is riding his bike from Alaska to Patagonia climbing the highest peaks of each country along the way. 25,000km over about a year starting in May.

He does a great blog so it's fun to keep up with all of the cool trips he takes. I'm jealous on way too many levels. Check it out and donate to the charity he's representing if you feel like it. Thanks.

Thanks to VFRMAN for posting this here. Even though I will ride with much less horsepower than most of you guys, I'd be happy to meet you along the Panamerican Highway somewhere between summer 2009 - 2010. Or maybe on one of the big mountains - like Canada's Mt. Logan in May '09 and then the big one - Denali in Alaska - in June '09.

I plan to post frequent updates on my Panamerican Peaks Blog.

Right now I'm sorting out my gear for a winter camping shake-down gear prep trip in Idaho - will blog about this experience early next week...

Wow.. Im thinking this is the trip of a life time..!!!

I think Mt. Logan would probably harder than Denaly given its location and not too many attempts at climbing it...
Logistics alone would be a challenge for me... !!
I did Pico de Orizaba on 2007 and want to do Denali and Aconcagua in the next two years..

I'll be checkout your blog from time to time..

Looks like Thomas is on track. Summited Logan and is on to Denali. Great pics and great reading. Good Luck Thomas!
