This is one topic you will never see on the 40 board...........

The FJ-40 isn't a showy car. The FJ is. The FJ-40 is a basic vehicle that is very nifty, but most would mistake for a jeep and keep walking on.
Some people have spent 2k to get the TRD Big Brake Kit to get the red calipers "professional" look :-P

Well, since you refer to you FCJ as a showy car, I think I have my answer.............

Yeah, because when it first came out noone stopped to stare it at right? Half of the people who buy it didn't buy it because of the look, then return it used once they found out it wasn't a luxury car? Why do you think you see SO many used FJ's out there? People DIG the looks of the vehicle, buy it because of that, then end up giving it back because they find out it isn't in reality the vehicle they need\like. If you're telling me the FJ isn't a looker, or doesn't stick out from the rest of the SUV crowd, then I'm going to have to laugh. It is in it's own class of looks, and stands out, you're the first person I've talked to that seems, from what I'm gathering, to think it doesn't. A vehicle doesn't have to be 60k+ to 200k+ to be "showy" in case you didn't know. "Showy" means the vehicle sticks out, catches peoples eyes. This is a vehicle that by all means does that. It has unique styling that other vehicles do not have.

Anyway. got everything painted. I believe I could have done a far far far better job if I had different size brush and overall a good brush kit instead of one huge brush that limited how "smoothly" I cut get the paint into tight spots. Here's the result.

Later on I think I am going to take the entire sway-bar out (once I learn how to do it) and spray it with emergency red rustoleum or dupicolor. For now, it's fine. Apparently it takes a week for this stuff to fully cure, and every wheel has a fresh coat on it including the sway bars.
