Have it "wrapped" by a vinyl shop. Get someone to sponsor you, pay for the wrap, and drive it as it is.... with a "condom" over it.... LOL

Between you and @roadstr6 , it looks like single stage paint from Maaco might be the way to go. I need to check out your 80 next time you are at the barn or group camp.My roof and hood had surface rust. Took the truck to Maaco for a $500 single stage and it came out great. No drips, looks fine. It's not a bad option, plus, you get to keep your beautiful nightshadow blue color.

Herculiner is BAD stuff. From what I remember, the texture is rough, like cut your skin rough, and it gets chalky after a few years.Hmmm......
