The truck would intermittently not start over the past few weeks. Finally died and I had to get a tow home. Pulled the code and am getting "P2796 No Communication In Immobilizer System."
I could put the key in the ignition and the security light went out.
I tried testing the ECU relay and jumpered A to F in the fusebox (see pic) and would still crank, but no start. (My immobilizer fix thread)
Then I tried reprogramming my key per this article.
I even double-checked the air filter housing to the throttle body connection (just because)...
One thing I have noticed is that when cranking, I am not seeing the tach move. I have never really payed attention before, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
We are down to one vehicle and I am at my wits end. Thankfully, the wife unit and I are on different shifts, so we can make it work, but this is getting frustrating...
