Start planning and thinking about our annual Oyster Roast in January. Location not yet decided as it depends on how many respond and the weather that weekend.

I would like to get an early head count so we can determine how many oysters to buy and whether hotdogs/brats/burgers are needed and any sides like we did last year.

If you can give me a heads up on whether you PLAN TO ATTEND that would be a good start...and then we can nail down the actual number two weeks out from the event. This is a family event so children are welcome. Be advised that if weather is poor we will likely have it at LexTech Automotive on James Island so there will be tools and equipment inside the bay area that you will need to ensure your children do not play with and potentially hurt themselves.

Thanks again and hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year!

Me+1. I may bring my kids if Clayton can quit saying F**k and S**t in front if my kids so much.

I can't say s*** and fxxx anymore I guess I shouldn't be going but oh well... Better to learn from me than the kid on the back of the bus

This is the list...will ask for final additions NLT 12 January so can buy oysters and confirm everything with Glenn. Thanks.

Tomorrow is cutoff at least as far as planning goes...if someone shows up they wont be turned away...just cant promise there will be enough food or beverages. If previous years are any indication, we tend to have too much so I am not thinking that will even be an issue.

I will confirm with Glenn over the location and will post it here for your notification....directions will be PM'd to anyone wanting to attend if somewhere other than LexTech Automotive.

Thanks and have a great weekend...

Looks like 10 people unless Bryan and girlfriend show up and Scott shows up this year again with his brother. Michael is also a maybe...please give me a firm answer if you previously told me YES and now things have changed. Much harder to buy for 6 people than it is for 15...thanks.

I should be able to make it, but the wife won't. So put me down for 1. Sorry I've been out of the loop for a while, things have been crazy with work and the holidays and whatnot!

The location is going to be at:

LexTech Automotive, LLC
873 Folly Rd.
Charleston, S.C. 29412

Parking in rear of shop....

Pets will need to remain in vehicle....children welcome as long as supervised as this is a working shop and there are heavy items and potentially dangerous tools if handled by young children.

Does anyone have a small charcoal or gas grill they can bring to cook some burgers and hotdogs for those that dont eat oysters?

yes....any beer or other refreshments need to be brought with you. I will provide a few burgers and dogs for those that dont eat oysters but only know of two at moment that dont. will also bring plates, plasticware, napkins, cups, ice, soda, condiments, crackers for oysters, hotsauce for oysters, and will get oysters or ask Glenn to pick them up for me.

Assuming Glenn will have his cooker again....

Still need a grill or I can buy a small throw away from Walmart and a bag of charcoal for the day.

You will only need to bring yourselves....your appetitie....your beverages if you want something more than soda....and your oyster knives though I will have a couple there.

If you are not a veteran oyster shucker may want to bring some towels and a pair of cotton or rubber gloves to hold them in...I dont wear any but many like to.

Food for thought...

I would also recommend brining some folding chairs if you have any.....we will be standing on concrete floor or gravel outside so if you want to sit down you will need a chair.
