This is like the video version of ROTM, NICE!

Actually Long Range makes a replacement tank and an addition large tank that goes in the spares place. Be aware the replacement tank hangs down a couple inches below the frame.
MAF has one too. Long term goal.

I love my sunroof.

I'm a fan of Overland Bound's yt channel and traded some DMs with Dan on ig a while back. Both dudes seem like really good human beings you want to get to know! Interesting vid with cool 80s, indeed.

On a semi-related note, it looks like the Overland Bound guy recently blew his engine and got it rebuilt by a shop in Norcal.

Curious if anyone else has any experiences hiring Top Shop Auto to rebuild/refresh their 80?

It's funny how you always want what you dont have. I would love a sunroof in my 80! They are super rare here in Aus, there is millions of 80's but I've only seen Sahara's with sunroofs and they are a lot rarer. I think its nuts how you guys are always trying to fill the sunroof in!

I’m about to embark on an engine rebuild, in anticipation of a Wits-End turbo device ! I’ll be using Top Shop for some of the work I cannot handle.

when its pouring rain outside (and inside) your rig you will change your opinion.

I would buy a new short block from Toyota before having anyone rebuild one.

I'm pretty sure I remember from their instagram that that's what they did.. Bought the OE short block and did the install with a bunch of cleaning and refresh.

Plenty of very talented engine builders out there. I would never hesitate to rebuild mine. In fact I have :flipoff2:

A smart guy as he knows first hand what is behind a factory rebuilt and a factory warrenty is the bonus

Yeah I like my sunroof personally.

My rebuilder gave a one year warranty for his work. Exact same as Toyota.

Hard to compare a worldwide network with the latest technology to one guy in one corner building but if one never ventures far from home I could see it.
In the end one does what makes them personally comfortable.

The short block is ONE piece of the puzzle smart guy. Toyota doesn't offer a long block. Your neighborhood bad ass engine builder does because he still has to finish that OEM short block.

AGAIN - I say go for it if that what makes you happy. Its alright to have a different comfort zone :)
My local bad ass engine builder died so no more warranty:wtf:
