If all goes well, I'm going to meet up at 10 a.m. at Lousetown road. I'm coming in from the VC side since I know that way partially and it's closer to me.

Met up with some good people, had a pretty good time.

We came in from the top side, ran down to the canyon, then played around a little.

For anyone who thinks they want to try this canyon, I would heartily recommend a minimum of 33's and a rear locker with lots of armor and a good spotter for a good portion of the trail. There are quite a few spots that are getting pretty iffy for anything less than 35's, and that's just the portion around the road and the road going up out of the canyon.

I didn't have to stack too many rocks, but there have been a lot of rigs up there tearing things up pretty bad. The lines I saw last year are all gone, now they are just big holes and black rocks from all the rubber burning going on. The step coming out of the canyon, back up the exit road played heck with the shorter rigs for a minute or two, and they were running 37's, locked. You have to climb a very off camber, rock ledge that has big holes dug at the bottom and the way things have been moved around, the only way to get a line is to come in then turn hard right to climb the ledge and dodge the rocks on both sides of the gate.

That one obstacle would be a game killer for a rig without lockers or with small tires and no winch. You could try to strap someone up the ledge, but the angle and the hill would make a winch the best option.
