So if you have been following Pumpkin Spice, you have figured out it's going up for sale soon on BAT.
i wanted to build something for my wife, and when she fell off RTT a year or so ago and was injured, i didn't think she would be able to climb ladder again.
So then i thought we would need an off-road trailer, bigger motor, new everything, more and more, as Gonzo said, not supervised. And after JMack wrapped up build, this truck is beautiful, just what i imagined, stock look with restomod feel inside.
Before going to JMack, it was at my farm unfinished while waiting for chrome. My wife sees it, sits in it, looks at me and says she won't drive it, it's too nice, where would she park it to keep from being hit by other doors. She is right, i got carried away. She says like Steve, you dented Steve in Wyoming last summer and didn't think anything of it, you wouldn't be that way with this truck.
I can't justify having this truck and driving it 1-2 times a month, i drive a pickup 6-7 days a week.
So, we'll see what happens, i hope i get my $5k back i spent!

I’ll start. $5,001 !

You’ve fostered the build of an incredible machine and endured many challenges along the way to get it to the finish line. Bravo.

I’d love to be the steward but fear not financially feasible as well as your above listed concerns.

Best wishes with the auction and the road of life ahead.

Boo, but I get it, it’s hard to play with the really nice toys that never got outside..

GLWS!

She is right, i got carried away
5+ years of buying pigs to find that one unicorn body, countless hours looking for those unobtainium parts that none of us have seen in a very long time if at all, you managed to assemble what many would consider the perfect combination of parts for that perfect (Restomod) FJ-55.

Builder drama is not un-common on large projects and at the end of the day your builder did a good job, we addresses the stuff you didn’t like and I believe it’s 100% ready for its new adventure whatever that is.

Thank you for including me in this build it was an honor to be involved, if for some reason you end up keeping it and want to get completely carried away I have ideas…. We’ll start by throwing a shovel at the quarter panel and get that first scratch out of the way then show the guys what a leaf sprung pig can do on the trails…..

Yeah, wow! 22 whole pages. Gonna have to give your right index finger a couple weeks of recovery time.

Saw an old Land Cruiser sittin’ in out the weeds
Thought she’d be a quick project, fulfill all my needs
She looked rough from the outside, beat up and worn,
But I still saw the beauty in the Iron Pig form.

52 years old with the 2F still running'.
But every bolt’s seized and the rust is straight gunnin’.
The fenders are wavy, the rockers: half-bent,
and the floor has more holes than a government tent.

They said “it’s a Toyota, she's still in the race!”
but I spend every weekend with rust in my face.
Now I’m lost on 'mud, and it's past 2 AM again,
updating my build thread and slingin' mud in the pen.

Page one of my thread says “check the clutch linkage first,”
on page seven I’m welding, on page twelve I feel cursed.
By page twenty-two I’ve forgotten the reason I came,
just another lost soul adding fuel to the flames.

Five thousand dollars sounded noble and wise,
a wise man’s budget, I would not be surprised.
Now that number feels like a joke told unto myself,
as I bleed out my savings buying parts for the shelf.

One day I'll turn the key — 2F coughs and then roars
a deep guttural song that cuts straight to my core.
Eased onto the back roads, dust trailing behind,
the endless repairs fade, driven far from my mind.

Windows half-down, road washed out ahead
She rattles and shakes, the tires dig in the tread,
clawing for purchase on the loose gravel groove,
old 2F roaring like it has something to prove.

We'll make it, and then, my face wearing a smile,
My problems will fade, mile after mile.
Dust and pine needles swirled in a victorious cloud,
and mile after mile I’m feeling damn proud!
This pig is my steed, and I'm riding in style,
On that golden morning… it will all feel worthwhile.
