Will and I did an impromtu trail run today to "test" out the trail. We headed out to Steven's Loop. Will had never done the trail and was curious. Took us about 1.5 hours from air down to air up. Both of us on 33's.

Just a little carnage on the Jeep.

Good times and a good test of the Jeep.

You need to get a better picture taker than me. Seemed I missed it every time a good shot was coming up...

Sure doesn't look hard from those pics, but I think I will be sore tomorrow from all that stacking..

The trail is a lot easier if you go the weekend after a Reno 4x4 run.

Damn... I was off too. Would have done that one w/ ya's.

Wish I would have known. It was a total last minute deal though, we were talking about possible rigs for Will to purchase/build for the event and the subject of Steven's Loop came up and we gave ourselves about two hours to get the rigs ready and meet up. Sorry about that, I would have loved to see Matilda on the trail.

After skimming through the thread on R4X4 I think the winning strategy might be a rally style rig with an armored undercarriage and a fast winch. Drag it through the rock sections and haul butt on the desert stretches.

If they add a winching penalty that would go out the window.

I sooooooo want to enter this thing, but the reality is that I am too busy just keeping up with normal life, there isn't any way I can even consider this right now.

That doesn't stop me from wishing though...
