I would like to know if anyone has used my guy at wilde yet, and if so, how did it go?

wilde parts guy

Just got off with the wilde toyota parts guy, and he tells me NO ONE HAS ORDERED ANYTHING.

He was nice enough too offer his discount, yet nobody needs any parts? Strange. I guess I will continue to order stuff for my 40 resto and hopefully he won't yank the great privelage..... Of a 30% discount.

I just figgered more guys were in stages of build ups on various models of cruisers.

Please order me stuff at random as well:)

maybe when I actually start doing mechanical stuff...

right now all i'm doing is body work, and it's pretty much more labor intensive than parts intensive at this point.

Also, quite a few parts on my cruiser won't be toyota anyway... The engine block, transmission, transfer and axles will be.... But I have plans for aftermarket on most practically everything else. But I doubt your guy can order parts for a 3B diesel and an H55F, since they were never sold here.

Unfortunatly, most of my toyota original parts have to come from "special" sources out-of-country.

hey Fred,
that is a big 10-4. i am actually getting ready to make a rolling chassis outta my 40 . Just waitn' on 2 parts. Haven't updated my thread in quite some time.

I just don't want to burn any bridges with this guy. I am sure everyone understands.

Speaking of....

I tried calling that powder painting guy you posted up in Delavan -- never answers his phone? I hope your parts guy answers the phone from time-to-time. ;)

Seriously though, I've finally decided on galvanizing for the frame. Talked to a guy who restores old series Land Rovers and he galvanized, the puts the special flat back "chassis flat" POR-15 over it. Apparently, the POR-15 has no problem adheing to zinc, which makes sense since the "metal prep" pre primer stuff they sell is zinc-based.

I think you are best off going to his place of business. I just had my header ceramic coated, and it looks maw-velous. I don't have the # right now with me, but he is located on industrial drive in delavan by Keiths auto body.:beer:

Any yet?

haven't talked to the wild guy in some time. Wonderin if anyone gave it a shot yet(not tryin to step on anyones toes that is;))

I didn't know about the hookup. What is his name? I just ordered a plethora of junk for my FJ62 from a friend at Bergstrom Toyota in Oshvegas. I got the usual lousy deal and poor service. Did I mention slow delivery??

cdan

cdan is also , actually very exceptional, and prompt, and knows a cruiser inside and out.
