Thanks to the offers for assistance with my Cruiser rebuild wrap up. In my original post here, I was wondering if anyone wanted to drop by and give a hand.

I found out that this next weekend, although short notice at this point works very well for me. If you are looking for a day to do some maintenance on your cruiser, I'd like to offer up my place. As bait/offerings, I have a smoker and will be cooking up some ribs in the smoker and have the gas grill for whatever else is in the freezer. Also, I have a compressor, welder, blast cabinet, jack stands and probably any tool you'd need to do your own work.

I just basically need some help from your rigs for finding out where all the missing connections go in my wiring harness, and some minor mechanical work to do. I drove it up to Lowe's and Target today, but think I have an issue with the Holley carb I'm currently using. If anyone who is coming has a 2F FJ40 carb they'd like to sell, please bring it along.

Sunrise to sunset, I'll be wrenching. Please let me know if you'd like to drop by and I will be sure to make space. If you are curious about any tools I may have that you'll need please feel free to ask in this thread. Just finished cleaning and organizing everything as well, so its a good time to drop by.

I'm right off 495 and the Pike. Off Purchase St. near 'Nam.

Rob

I'll prolly stop by. My father is in town next weekend from Atlanta so hoping to hop in the Blizzard and swing by. I'm finishing painting the Blizzard today so should have it all back together by then.

I think I have an extra carb here but pretty sure it's an F carb.

Can you post up your address?

Hate to say it but I know I can not make it....:frown:

Its a great idea and wish I could take advantage of it!

I know its short notice, but I could set up a swap meet and/or express to the Scranton, PA area since I will be going there during the week after next weekend.

Sounds good to me! I'm sure someone will be able to help you out if you have questions.

Sorry we haven't been able to hook up.

I'll be here all day. 11AM would be a great time to start.
My address is:

17 Oriole Drive
Milford, MA 01757

Thanks for the offer! Bring it on by if you can find it. I'll need an air cleaner as well, wont I? I have the Holley carb filter from Downey on it at this point. I think I gave away my air cleaner a few years ago.

Also, I test drove my smoker last night.

Still works. :D

My father is coming tomorrow on a "surprise" 5 day visit. Still planning on coming but probably later in the day

I'll be here..just more sweaty and dirty.

Just the folks who have replied here. I havent had any PMs. Looks kind of light so far.

Aside from Randy I'm not sure any of us have any useful skills......except beer drinking skills

Final bump!

I fired up the smoker again this afternoon and straightened up the garage for tomorrow. I'll be wrenching late morning. If anyone wants to drop by, feel free. I'm not expecting a large turnout. More beer and food for me I guess!

Rob- Sorry as hell that I didn't make it today. Ended up making the rounds with the family then had to go to a bunch of graduation parties. Heading to the final one now and it's 8:20 pm.

Feel bad that I didn't make it. let me know next time. If it's any consolation, I suck at wrenching.

What do you guys do if your rig breaks? ;p

I installed my tcase linkages, worked on a few electrical projects and finished cleaning the garage.

Maybe some other time.

I have an air cleaner housing from a 77'...

If that would work for you, I was hoping to get like $20 for it. It is solid, just some minor surface rust, could be cleaned up and painted pretty easy.

I am in CT though...and have projects I am commited to on the weekends, hence why I did not show up for some ribs and wrenchin'. Spent the weekend hauling rubble fill for my driveway with the dump truck. Had to unload the sucker with a shovel cause' the hydro line popped...DOH!

I haven't been on much so I missed coming by to help out but I have a couple of carbs lying around and an air cleaner for sure actually a whole spare engine;)

Still looking for some assistance.

Yesterday I finished modifying and installing the CCOT winch plate to the front. Although they are listed as Warn compatible, they arent compatible with MM Hydro winches without opening up the fairlead mount hole. Had to take an additional 1" off the bottom so the line could make it out. No problem, just didnt expect the winch height to be an issue before. The foot mounts are the same, just a lower profile I guess. Its a great mount btw, and the powdercoat is really nice.

I'm looking for a stock rear wheel opening 40 so I can trace the contours and cut mine correctly.

I need to :

Compare some wiring on a 78 and/or a ~72.

Correctly wire my switched circuits

Replace front pass side brake cylinders

Replace my carb with a factory one.

Thats about it I think. Seriously that close to driving it. I'm looking for a new carb since I cant go more than a few miles on my current one without it flooding out and leaving me to look like a jackass on the side of the road trying to get it started.
