Bought my 95 about 3 months ago from a dealer. Since it had 105k on it - they would not give a warrantee. I checked it out as best as I could - everything seemed good. The only thing I asked them to look at was the e-brake which wasnt working (clue 1). They fixed it before I picked it up but the brake light would occaisionally come on (clue 2). I have to get the truck inspected and I knew it wouldnt pass with the brake light - so I drop it off at a shop I know to have them check it out. I figure - maybe it's just an adjustment on the e-brake.

Nope. Right front caliper is leaking fluid - both rear calipers frozen. Since Im gettin three - I decided to get four. 1100 installed with new pads, new fluid and turned rotors. OUCH!!!!

Hey - maybe it'll stop better when they're done. Maybe the e-brake will work too. ugh....

You should consider learning how to work on your own truck. Fast. You could have saved at least $500 doing this yourself.

X2. This is a crazy easy repair. You could have bought all the parts, a new master and a front end rebuild kit with wheel bearings for that $$.

One tip-they almost certainly did not torque the front caliper bolts correctly. Make sure you check that in a few weeks-the proper torque is 90 foot/pounds.

Im sure I could have tried to take this on - if I had the time. I do all my own work on the race car to save $$$ (and to make sure it's done right - dont want a wheel coming off at 140!!). But its hard to maintain everything (2 trucks, 2 motorcycles, race car, 2 trailers, primary house, rental property, wife, kid, job, aaaahhhh! Somethings gotta give.

This time - it was the land cruiser. In retrospect - im glad it wasnt the GX470 or the carrera... They would have cost a LOT more...

I am going to do the coolant flush and PHH soon - plus the scion stereo. When I get a chance!!!;p

BTW when the brake light comes on, usually the reservoir is 2-3mm low.
Cheers,
Sean

That was the first thing I checked. Fluid was good. At least with all the new parts - I should be good to go for a while..
