Hello all,

This is not a strictly either a Toyota or 70 series related question, but I am seeking the electrical wiring diagram for my 1986 HJ60. The sticky for manuals is in this forum, hence I'll post my question here.

I followed the link in the sticky (thanks to RoscoFJ70): Toyota Workshop & Repair Manuals - Page: 3

I selected this manual: Land Cruiser Chassis & Body Manual - PN: 36262E Description: Chassis and body manual for the LC BJ 60/70/73/75 series, FJ 62/70/73/75 series & HJ 60/75 series - 1984 to 1990

I could not download or read the file without first downloading BitTorrent. After downloading this utility, I downloaded the above mentioned file. It is 7.07kb and took over 3 hours to download, so I believe I have something to view!

So I have what I believe to be the manual on my desktop. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to open it for viewing! Double clicking the icon on my desk top opens the BitTorrent 6.3 window, showing clearly the file was successfully downloaded, but double clicking on the file there produces nothing.

I browsed the BitTorrent FAQ, as well as other sites, looking for basic info, and did not find anything useful to me.

My questions are:

A) Have I selected the correct file for my needs?
B) How do I view the manual I have downloaded? (please type slowly, so I can keep up)
C) Is there another quality diagram available?

Thanks,

Rick

I do a lot of torrent downloading, ( movies mostly) are you sure you're opening the file itself and not just the torrent link?

ususally the torrent program puts the dl'd file in a folder that'll be named something similar to the program name, ( like bittorrent downloads for example)

and the actual file will be in there...in my documents or somewhere like that. the torrent link is just that, much like a web address you'd cut and paste here, when you click it, the torrent program tries to start downloading the file again.

hit the search button in the start menu and type in the actual file name of the manual. chances are the torrent program has just put it somewhere obscure, and you just need to figger out where it went.

trying to open files in the torrent program window doesn't usually work.

that's my guess. unless it's just that the file is in a weird format.

clear as mud?

The 7.07kB file on your desktop is just a link to the torrent, not the downloaded manual file.

If you double click on the file on the desktop, to open up uTorrent, then right click on the downloaded manual file within uTorrent, and choose Open Containing Folder, to open the uTorrent download folder that it has saved it into.

Cheers Simon, that worked! The file is a complete manual on my hard drive! Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!

100mb of info, including the wiring diagram I need to get after the intermittent A/C.

Thanks to everyone involved with the info exchange on this forum. I appreciate and value the resource.

Rick
