Well I decided today to drive 40 miles out of my way to go possibly see a FJ. So me and the wife went to Seeger Toyota in St Roberts, MO and lucky me they had 1. It was a black one.
I looked at it for a few minutes and the first thing that came to mind was that it was shorter than i had imagined from the pictures so that was good, i had figured it was just going to be a 4runner gone wrong as far as the size.
THis model was pretty basic. It had the auto tranny and 17" alloys. No sliders but it did have the rear diff lock. They had it priced at 27,9XX. There was approxiamatly a $650 handling, shipping, delivery fee on it but thats low compared to some ive heard on this board.
I looked it over and made these decisions:
Front bumper is cheap(at least the "wings" off the side are.) I grabbed one and it wasn't too sturdy.
The back seat didn't appear to have alot of space though it could have been that the front seats were all the way back.
Those were really the only bad things about it. The good were.
Catchy interior. No inclinometer but for everyday driving you don't need it.
Compact body style further tying it to the 40.
i didn't get underneath the rig to take a look at the make up because i had a white tshirt on and didn't feel like getting dirty since i wasn't done running around town.
Since it was sunday there was no one around for a test drive or i would have asked to take it for a spin. If it wasn't so far down the road i would go down this week since im on spring break. Ahh heck i might anyway.
