You didn’t have to get that from Japan.

It’s available here in the US from any Toyota parts dept. About $230.

Every parts place I called here in the US didn't have it. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong domestic parts supplier websites? Had several showing "available" then they'd tell me they needed to cancel my order because they didn't have any.

Got any domestic OEM Toyota 70 parts suppliers you'd recommend?

You need to provide them with an HS-7. They then send to Plano to parts analysts and the part gets released.

You need to create a relationship with a parts dept who will do this for you.
Every parts dealer here in SoCal is an a******. They charge ABOVE MSRP for parts, you cannot order them online, you can only order them in store, etc.

It's been cheaper for me to try and get things through McGeorge parts on the east coast vice trying to do anything with local parts suppliers. Maybe I send them my HS-7 for analysis?

I'll send you a PM for a couple more things if you've got a second.

As I continue to search for a radiator, it would seem I need the left and right radiator supports - my troopy currently has an aftermarket radiator that they bent down the sub support assemblies on both sides to hold it in place.

Upon further inspection, it would seem that these are NOT the support brackets but rather something part of the radiator itself. This radiator was obviously rebuilt at some time.

My current engine air intake hose from the cleaner box to my carb was dry rotted. So dry rotted that it was taped together using packing tape.

Installed the new hose with new Toyota clamps yesterday, along with a new OEM air filter.

I should have checked the resonator though, the underside of mine was cracked and completely worthless, now a new one is on the way from Dubai.

Parts used:
Hose, Air Cleaner, No.1, Toyota 17881-66020
Clamp, Hose(For Air Cleaner Duct), Toyota 96111-10800
Clamp, Hose(For Precleaner Hose), Toyota 96111-10930

And last but not least, I changed out the sombrero grille to the TOYOTA grille. Purely aesthetics, but I think it looks 1000% better. Plus my old grille was a little faded.

Looks great with the new headlights.

I like that style grill. Kind of want one of those on mine, even though it’s not “period correct”.

I wonder when they changed? My 08-94 FZJ75 pickup has the TOYOTA grill.

Edit: In perusing some part's diagrams, it appears that the change was in 01-95.

Hello,

The grill changed for some markets on 1/95. For others, it changed later that year, around August.

Thanks Juan. I was only looking at General Market.

Did you repurpose the duct tape from the duct to the resonator?

I put one of those light kits in mine a few years ago. I've been through 2 relays since, so carry two spares in the glove box. It's kind of exciting when you're cruising along at 60 mph and everything goes dark...

My truck is 24v though.

I sure did! Not as sticky the second time though.

Got a link for replacement relays?

Found them on Ebay. Think these are them.

Finally had this show up. Ordered it nearly a month ago.

Trying to consolidate my oil capacities with H150F transmission and no diff locks.

Transmission per RM315E: 2.6 US qts, 2.7 liters
Transfer Case per RM315E: 1.9 US qts, 1.8 liters
Front Diff per RM183E: 2.7 US qts, 2.6 liters of SAE 90, API GL-5
Rear Diff (9.5inch full float) per RM183E: 2.6 US qts, 2.5 liters API GL-5

MT-90 is great stuff for the Toyota manual transmissions. I always use Redline's 75W-90 gear oil though for the diffs and transfer case. The "weight" is the same but the additives and viscosities are different. Not suggesting that MT-90 won't work fine; just never tried it.

Well I might have an extra case of MT90 now for sale then!
