Crazy, not a post on this truck since October.
28 degrees this morning and the Sniper popped the 2F to life without a studder.
Made a round trip to the UPS store to offload some items to 4Plus, Mosley Motors and Valley Hybrids and then went mural hunting for Mural Monday on my IG Page @89nolder.

I bagged a nice one

One thing that seems weird to do on the Sniper, if it does not fire immediately it’s best to stay in the starter. Don’t stop and restart. Just grind another revolution and it will always start.

1.)Noting the heat tape next to your PS line. I was thinking along the same lines.

2.)That gauge! I want one too. Which did you choose? Would you have done it differently if you knew then what you know now?

3.) What's that plate bolted to the underside of your intake manifold?

4.) Where did you run the vent hoses for distributor cap?

I am guilty of overthinking, while simultaneously overlooking. Thanks @WSOPgold2012

-The plate is intake heater block off.
-Changed the distributor so no vent line. You can run it straight up to valve cover or higher. Doesn't really matter as long as water can't get in the house.
-fuel pressure gauge

Im kinda wantin to try the new Hyperspark ignition tho!!! 🤣😊☺☺😄😂 dont think they mkn em for our rig!!!

I put one of those on my friends FJ40 with a Sniper and 350

It’s a lot of moving parts for a simple 40

That’s the beauty of the DUI. It’s all right there. Cut out the excess crap.

@WSOPgold2012 you’ve painted yourself into that air filter corner with the way you routed your fuel lines. I guess you are not going to add an OEM air cleaner huh?

Any reason to? Sniper air cleaner seems to be working just fine....plus, Colorado air is pure!!! 😂🤣😂😊

I personally prefer (for a 2f) the factory heat shield and the Mosley adapter setup. I just like the idea of a heat shield under the sniper.
I kept the heat shield, and am considering putting the carb fan back in there. Also thinking about removing all those tabs and fittings on the stock air cleaner. Maybe replace it with an older style that didn't have so many doohickeies.

I can’t wait to close this in and put in a lift

Reading back through this because we are doing a 60 this weekend at my shop. So glad this pad is now a shop

I spent the day running around in the 60 today.

I’ve been having some conversations with people about why I love the H42 4 speed with true 33s and 3.70 gears.

3000 RPM gets you 75mph. Perfect. The 2F will hum along like this for days

Took Ole Blue out today for a long leg stretch to Louisiana to grab parts.

Smooth as silk with the AC blowing cold. 70-75 mph she turned 12.7 mph

Not too bad for a fat girl.

Did you correct for oversized tires? Mine I have to add 18%. Still 12.7 MPG isn't too bad at that speed, setting that tall, with roof rack.

My best in the last 3 months was 13.34 MPG and averaging 11.9 smiles to the gallon.
