So yo think the Sniper or the other upgrades you did made it better?

The AFI is a great system and, at the time I installed it, the best option. The sniper is just a better setup.

That said, having the proper and now higher compression head has got the be where the largest gains are coming from.

I really like the throttle response so much better on the Sniper. I never could get used to how slow the RPMs fell between the shift points with the AFI.

Great read, super cool to hear how much better she runs with the Sniper. You should throw her on a Dyno.

I have a pretty good idea where it would be after testing the fully built Cop Motor in my Pig. The only difference in the two is the custom cam and it makes a pretty big difference.

Seat of the pants dyno says it is 20-25% less than the Warthog bit about 50-75% better TVs it was.

Right totally spaced on your Pig. It's nice to have side-by-side comparisons on the Sniper vs AFI.
Thanks for the stoke.

This is one of my favorite things to do every year when it is too hot to be outside.

Polish this turd. Dull and scratched before

Looks great!! How do you like Griot's products?

I’ve been loving my 16” steelies on the 60. One thing I didn’t love was the Rustoleum Smoke Gray. That’s always been my go-to OEM steelie copy color.

It was a bit too light on the 60.

This time I went with Rustoleum Industrial Gray. It’s a shade or two darker.

While I was at it I wire wheeled all my lug nuts and cleaned my hubs.

I need a good trip to foul it all up now.

Added this cool @TRAIL TAILOR antenna mount just for FM. Hopefully this chopped CB antenna will do the job. I’ve broken the last 2 fixed base FM antenna clean so I’m going to try this. Works fine at my house but I’ll have to see how it picks up out further in the sticks

x2. You want a filter intended for EFI.
As for your EVAP issue I bet you just have some of the hoses hooked up wrong. Right now mine won’t let me fill it past 1/2 tank unless I reach under and pull a hose off.

Mine does this from time to time, more lately. Did you figure out the cause? bad tank vents?

thumbs up to @wngrog , love your rig!

I think I have all my fuel issues fixed.

Although I’ve changed a lot since the original issue, i like the way my PowerSurge is able to let me reuse the stock fuel pump and OEM
Clear fuel filter.

One thing that really helped eliminate all pressure in the tank is this little gas cap mod.

The OEM cap is technically a vented cap but this is like putting a turbo on it.

Unscrew the 4 screws. Drill a small hole through the flat layer but not through the handle!

You Land Cruiser like it’s your job.

I got some more time in the 60 today. The head and Sniper are truly amazing. Really woke this truck up. First tank of gas driving like a compete ass was only 10 mpg.

Gonna take it in a road trip Saturday and will drive normal and hopefully it will be back in the normal 13 mpg range

I also tried to chase down my lift gate rattles. I got some. I was missing a rivet in the latch and I filled it up with dynamat stuff.

Better. I think what’s left may be in the tailgate.

My lift gate squeaks/squeals I've been chasing it, haven't had success in stopping it yet. Finally stopped the rear seat from making noise.

I put the sound sheet you gave me in there and took the side pads off and cleaned them and oiled them up. Seems to have helped.

I need to give that a shot. I added a little foam rubber weather strip between the lift gate and tailgate..at first I thought it made a difference, but its back just as annoying.

500 miles into this new setup. So far it’s been perfect. No issues.

I was finally able to get long road miles and looks like the mileage is what it was with the AFI.

Interesting issue still with the fuel tank still.

I know if I did not have the hole drilled in the cap I would be having issues.

I don’t have fumes in the cab anymore because they are escaping from the cap.

When I shut the truck off I hear bubbling in the tank. Goes on for about 5 minutes after shut down.

No running issues.

Gotta be this stupid plastic thing in the fender clogged up or something. Hate to mess with it because it’s running perfect.
