Lone Star Land Cruisers 'owns' Old Camp and Jeep Eater trail at Barnwell, and we are supposed to maintain those areas. As far as I know, we haven't done anything there in a long time. I've heard that the park is evaluating who owns what and if changes need to be made. I personally don't spend a lot of time at Barnwell, but it's still important for us to support them and TMTC.

I'd like to go out one day prior to ICBM and see what needs to be done. The main area that usually needs work is the Barn. We'll likely need to replace the back walls. They're 6ft high so old fence panels work great for walls, in case any of you have some laying around.

Right now I'm thinking Saturday October 6. Any takers?

I could probably make it October 6th. Do they charge entrance fees if your just going to do some clean up?

I am scheduled to work, Ill start trying to trade if this is the solid date.
I have some railroad ties and maybe some 2x4s left from deck remodel that I can contribute....unless we want fence panels again in which case Ill start looking at trash piles

I will be at Kemper's wedding that weekend.

This Saturday. Anyone interested? Seth, usually the gate fees are waived if you are there to work.

I'm out. Can't get rid of the day. OU-UT weekend and nobody wants to work.
Sorry brudda,
CAS

If someone wants to go, let me know. I'm not interested enough to go by myself.

I forgot it's conferance weekend, so I won't be able to make it. I'm also starting a new job next week, and that will likely come with a new on-call schedule for me, so I'm not sure what my free time is going to look like.

I am working this weekend. Conference will have to be on the web for me!!! Got to miss the work weekend, too. Bummer!!

OK, I won't be there. If someone wants to go out, great.

Good luck on the new job Seth. I'm starting a new job next week too!

Yeah, but it's not like we cancelled a cancer walk or something.

ICBM will help LSLC start returning to it's former glory and commit keep their name on it. :(

Easy now, I am not sure that anyone ever really cared if our name was on it. I remember all the cluds decideing to have an event that all of LSLC statewide could participate in and Barnwell fit the bill. Maybe its time sombeody else takes Old Camp over if its a problem.

What keeps LSLC strong is the close bonds between members not organized club participation at any specific time or event. It has been this way since day one. :bounce:

Well said.

Okay Chad, my bad- I thought your club was wanting to continue sponsoring the campsite.

Someone oughta make the call to BMRA and release it then, if that's the consensus.

There are a lot of advantages for LSLC recommitting to the campsite: primarily you maintain the right to reserve it for anytime your club wants, plus the free quarterly cleanups are a great way to bring the members together for camping, wheeling, a little service and nurture those close bonds. :)

The club might want to keep the campsite. I sure don't want to speak for anyone else. Sounds like something we need to talk about.

I agree with everything else you say as well. Just not sure there is enough interest to maintain it to standards. Especially if there are other clubs out there waiting to have the opportunity.

I was just pointing out that there was no need to light any candles for us just yet. :grinpimp: Although, you can still mash Butch's food for him. :flipoff2:

One TTR member that was only there for the day to work did not get charged. He let Lawton know that he was not going to wheel, nor camp, just work.

The rest of us camped, wheeled, worked on our new camp, and paid.

There was a large group of Land Rovers over at their camp. I heard the chainsaw running so figure they were doing some much needed maintenance to their campsite.

Old Camp was empty save the lone camper with their tent set up inside the barn.
