Ol Blue, our FJ60 got run into. :frown: Drivers side. Dude ran a RED light. Towed his Oldsmobile away. I drove home. Doors open and shut. Driver door window is down, ain't broke but won't roll up. I can't get to the bolt holdin the end of the seat belt. Yep I broke part of it off. The floor is buckeld that bad.
I was looking forward to seeing how many miles this unit would go. Was still a very reliable ride with only 209,787 miles...
I will see what his insurace offers. Thankful I got hit by someone with insurance... Maybe I'll get the winder ta werk, or.....
Might be needin anuther D/D.... Always wanted an FJ55. Ain't sure I can fit in a Tacoma.....

C Ya, Don P.

Da-yum. That sucks...that's the one thing I worry about when tooling around town. Some dumba@# comin' out of nowhere and wreakin' my stuff. Sorry to hear it...Get ya 'nuther one and get back on the horse..er..wagon!

Oh...and you could always part out the 60 ;)

Cheers,
Matt

Sorry to hear that, Don. I am really looking forward to getting my 60 back on the road after 9 months.

Let us know if you part it out. Some GCC members are looking for front axles, engines, and transmissions.

Hope the insurance company does you right.

Off-Topic: Sorry!!

Hey Dave...this if pretty funny. I too have had my 60 offline since January!! What started with a t-case replacement....has turned into a nightmare for my wife (I'm having fun, but would like it to be road-worthy soon!)

Cheers,
Matt

I blew a radiator hose and overheated the engine in Jan. Found a used 2F in Colorado and picked it up in March (I think). It has been a slow project with everything else going on.

I took the oppertunity to have some body work done on the hatch and hood while it was down. But nearly everything is back on now. Just have some minor things to do. And the lift is in the cargo area right now.

I am hoping to get over to OKC on the 14th with the 60, if possible. Are you going to be there?

Dave

Dave,
Blowing a radiator hose can't be fun (I have some spare Green stripe left if'n ya need some)! Here is a post I put up last night about my build up (click me).

Also...are we having the second informal meeting on the 14th? I think we discussed it...the second saturday of the month at el' Hooters on NW expressway.

Everyone should try and make it!!

Bo?

Cheers,
Matt

Thanks guys. That fj60 on e-bay looks in worse shape than our clobberd one!! The adjuster came by yesterday bout 5pm. Apoligized for takin so long. I said "So American Family must have a bunch a bad drivers?" Got their fair share he said. Asked what I would settle for 3 times. He got the same anwser. Said he would have to check. Call me...
I missed a nice FJ62 in Colorado. Ain't seen much in FJ55's.. Unless$$$$... Don't really need a project. Rite now anyway... I may take the muney, get the winder ta roll up an down, some expanding foam and/or weather strip. And drive.

This is scary - my 60 is the same color!!

I remember the second Sat and Oct 14th for previous posts. I put it on the Yahoo calendar so some notices would go out.

2nd informal meeting

Yep Matt, 2nd Thursday, October 14th. Hooters on NW Expressway(OKC). 6:30 is the round-a-bout roundup time.

Hope to see more of the cruiserheads out there.

Bo

They'll probably offer you NADA average unless there is alot of pre existing damage '88 is $4725, '90 is $5275. Ask them what the buy back on it is. Cause if they total it out (which pretty much anything will total out a $5,000 vehicle), they get to keep the vehicle unless you buy it back from them. When my '91 Toy 2x4 PU was totalled with 125,000 on the clock, the buyback was $500. I probably should have bought it back, but didn't want to mess with it at the time. I know some states if you buy it back the title doesn't get marked, others, the title gets marked as salvage and you have to show that repairs are made before you register it. Maybe you know all this....

I say take the $5,000 or so, step up to a 80 series, toss the 60 series body, and turn it into a tube buggy wagon ;)

wrong date...

oops...wrong date. 2nd Thursday for meeting is October 12th, not the 14th.

Sorry to hear about ol' blue Don, I'm sure you'll get it pieced back together soon.

Bo

Got a call today $1743.63 and I get to keep the busted up unit. Not as much as I was lookin for. Low retail on NADA is $2100.
Missed a deal on an fj62 with more miles than Ol bLUE AT $2250...
Ain't seen no good deals on FJ55's.

Dang! Don P.

Pics of the damage?
