I've been chipping away at stuff on the FJ60 hoping to make it my new DD. Yesterday I replaced the oil pan gasket which was hemorrhaging oil. I washed the engine at the quarter wash yesterday afternoon so everything is clean under there. I checked this morning and still have a leak, right above the fill plug where the skid plate meets the pan. Everything above there is dry. I checked inside the pan when I had it off and didn't see any gross cracks or holes, so I'm guessing there is a small crack by one of the spot welds that attach the skid to the pan.

So here is the question; should I try to fix the pan I have or source a replacement?

People who did 350 conversions should have that oil pan laying around on the 6 motor somewhere in their garage. I gave two of those motors away. RayJon comes to mind. However it wouldn't be that hard to weld up in from the inside. Maybe someone who has welded up a gas tank could do it. Hmmmm who would that be?

took both to the scrap months ago.. Dan you can try this stuff they are using it with success on fuel tanks or bring it over and we can sand blast it and see where the leak is at and weld it up..

I went ahead and got a new pan. This will be my DD eventually so I want it 100%. The new pan cured 90% of the leakage. Now to hunt down the remaining leaks. And fix the death wobble, and re-gear the diff's..........
