I have a 1972 FJ40 and recently changed the oil. It looks like the old fiber gasket around the oil drain plug is worn out. I am having trouble locating a spare gasket anywhere around Jackson. It looks like the drain plug requires a 25 mm gasket which is much larger than anyone stocks any more. I could put an O ring on there, but not sure if it would do the trick. Anyone had a similar issue?

Have you been to a real parts store and asked? They may not stock it but can likely have one for you in a day or two. If not, as Bomar said, a few bucks from a Toyota dealer and the problem is gone.

Thanks y'all. So the Toyota dealer I talked to told me the incorrect gasket size (14 mm instead of 25 mm like I told them). 49 tire directed me to the napa in Richland which did have a 25 mm gasket in stock. Thanks again.

Our local dealership gives you one when you buy a filter...
